An autopsy shows that a baby whose body was found at a recycling plant in Somerton most likely had not taken a breath outside the womb before he died. The Yuma Sun reports that the autopsy concluded the cause of death remained undetermined.
Somerton police are investigating the incident. Workers at the plant found the body on February 14th in a plastic bag while they were separating materials for recycling.
Medical examiners referred to the child as "Baby Doe." The autopsy concluded the male child was about 20-to-22-weeks into gestation at the time of death. The autopsy report says the child had developed normally and did not suffer any trauma.
