On Friday afternoon, agents began following footprints near Papago Well on Camino Del Diablo Road, located in the Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge. The footprints led them to six Mexican nationals and 137 pounds of marijuana.
On Saturday, agents discovered seven individuals near the same area carrying 276 pounds of marijuana. Six were Mexican nationals and the seventh was an El Salvadoran.
The cases will be turned over to the United States Attorney’s Office for prosecution. The marijuana had an estimated value of over $206,000 and was seized for destruction.
