Border Patrol Helps Rescue Rafter Lost On Colorado River

Colorado-river-yumaUnited States Border Patrol agents from Yuma Station’s Boat Unit assisted the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office in rescuing a man Monday afternoon lost on the Colorado River. 

Agents were asked to assist in locating a 63-year-old man who had gone missing while rafting during a family activity.  The Sheriff’s Office received a call from the man’s wife stating he had been missing for about four hours. 

The boat unit was dispatched to the area and located the missing rafter east of the river’s confluence.  The man was given emergency medical assistance and transported to Gateway Park where Sheriff’s Office and EMS members were standing by to provide further assistance.
