Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and this year's event marks a major shift in women being able to access the health care they need. Matt Schafer works for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network. He says under the Affordable Care Act, women cannot be denied coverage because of a pre-existing condition such as breast cancer.

Each year in Arizona, more than 3200 new cases are diagnosed and around 700 women in the state die from breast cancer.
