Bronze Sculptor Dies From Rare Form Of Kidney Cancer

Dave McGary, an artist who was known for bringing a sense of realism to his bronze sculptures of Native Americans and life in the West, has died. He was 55. His wife Molly McGary said he passed away last Friday at the couple's home in Paradise Valley after battling a rare form of kidney cancer.
McGary, who had galleries in Scottsdale and Ruidoso, New Mexico, was lauded for portraying Native American figures in authentic indigenous clothing. While he had his work shown around the country and abroad, much of it was showcased in New Mexico, including a life-sized sculpture of a Native American warrior at the State Capitol.
