Arizona Legislature Expected To Pass Budget Along With Medicaid Expansion

Woman’s Body Found In Parked Car

The Yuma Police Department says a deceased person was found in a vehicle at Food City on West Eighth Street on Tuesday.  Police say they received a report of a suspicious subject in a car outside in the parking lot of the business.  Police say the body is a female, but are withholding identification pending notification of next of kin.  ... Airport Director Announces Retirement

The Yuma International Airport Director has announced his retirement.  The Yuma Sun is reporting that Craig Williams will step aside in January, 2014.  Williams enlisted as an airman basic in 1970 and remained with the military until his retirement in 1993.  Williams earned a bachleor’s degree in history in 1975 and a master’s degree in aeronautical science in 1985. Police Search For Missing Yuma Teen

The Yuma Police Department says they want to question a person in the recent disappearance of a young female.  Police say 19-year-old Emily Lynn Hieber has been missing for over four months.  She is described as a white female, standing 5’7”, 130 pounds with light brown hair and green eyes.  She may have darker short brown hair and likes to wear ... Water Meeting Cancelled

Hold the water!  A meeting to discuss water issues, similar to what was held in Yuma nearly two weeks ago, has been postponed.  Arizona Governor Jan Brewer has called a special session of the legislature to discuss 2014 budget issues, make adjustments to the 2013 budget and discuss her plan to expand Arizona Health Care to an additional 300,000 persons. ... Yuma County Ranks Highest In Arizona For Food Insecurity

Outbreak Of Hepatitis A Linked To Berries Sold At Costco

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says an outbreak of hepatitis A linked to a frozen berry mix sold at Costco has grown to 87 people with illnesses in eight states. Brewer Names New Department Of Veterans’ Services Chief

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer has named a former state lawmaker who also served in the U.S. Air Force as the new Department of Veterans' Services chief.  Brewer announced Tuesday that Janson Vogt would replace Joey Strickland after he was forced to step down as director in April.
