Border Patrol Arrests Man Smuggling Meth Into U.S.


El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents assigned to the Indio Station apprehended a suspected narcotics smuggler at the Highway 86 checkpoint and seized about three-pounds of methamphetamine Monday.  Officials say a travel bus was inspected and questioned a 21-year-old male passenger.  They discovered two vacuumed sealed packages strapped to his inner thighs.  The methamphetamine had an estimated value of nearly ... Arizona House To Hold First Medicaid Expansion Hearing

There is an outbreak of whooping cough in Mohave County.  County officials say that a few pertussis cases have been confirmed in the Kingman, Bullhead and Lake Havasu area. Sheriff’s Office Looking For Owner Of Found Horse


The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office says they are looking for the owner of a stray horse found last week in Dome Valley.  Police say the horse was in the area of County Fifth Street and Avenue 17-E near the Gila River.  The horse is described as a Palomino Paint gelding, around 15-years-old.  The Sheriff’s Office is currently caring for the ... Search Warrant Leads To Arrest Of Mother And Son On Drug Charges


The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office says two persons are in custody after a search warrant was executed at a residence on South Ninth Avenue Saturday.  Police say the search of the residence resulted in the seizure of small quantities of methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. 22-year-old Colton Komora and 59-year-old Darlene Komora were arrested.  Colton Komora was charged with possession ... Lady Matadors Slam Gateway With Back-To-Back Shutouts


The Arizona Western College Lady Matadors played back to back mercy rule games in defeating Gateway Tuesday.  The first game ended after five innings in a 16-to-nothing shutout.  The Lady Matadors scored ten runs in the first inning.  The nightcap was a ten-to-nothing win for the Lady Matadors.  AWC now has a 27-and-11 record overall. Border Patrol Apprehends Group Trying To Enter U.S. Illegally


15 persons who were illegally trying to enter the United States were arrested Sunday night.  The suspects fled from police when they were spotted near the border near Ocotillo, California.  The car coming into the U.S. was driving without lights.  The car was seized and charges have been placed against the 15 persons arrested.
