City Council Debate Held Thursday

Candidates vying for a seat on the Yuma city council participated in a public debate Thursday at the Martin Luther King neighborhood center. About 50 people showed up to listen to the six candidates speak their minds about a wide range of issues affecting city residents. Candidates answered questions in a panel-style forum, where the public was asked to submit topics they wanted to hear discussed. Those included Yuma’s fluctuating job market, water rights, and property taxes.
