Quechan-Indian-tribe-sealThe City of Yuma is sending money over to several nonprofit agencies who are helping soaring numbers of Yuma residents in need.

City Administrator Greg Wilkinson, along with Quechan Vice-President Ronda Aguerro and Council Member Michael J.V. Jack, turned over $10,000 each to Amberly’s Place, the Crossroads Mission and the Yuma Community Food Bank at a small presentation ceremony Thursday.

In return, Diane Umphress, executive director of Amberly’s Place, brought a donation of her own, a statuette, donated to the Quechan Tribal Council.
