City Of Yuma Expands Automated Meter Reading Installations

The City of Yuma will be able to inform more water customers of possible leaks, thanks to an expansion of Automated Meter Reading installations made possible through a $100,000 grant the City has received through the  U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. The City won the competitive grant through Reclamation’s Water Conservation Field Services Program – Yuma Area Office, which promotes water conservation. The one-year grant will provide at least 900 AMR units in five neighborhoods for a pilot project that will test the impact of customer notifications on water usage. The City will use the AMR units to track and notify customers of data that could result from a water leak.
