Drugs Found In Vehicle Transmission, Border Patrol Makes Arrest

El Centro Border Patrol Agents apprehended a suspected narcotics smuggler, seizing over $438,000 worth of illegal narcotics. 

Agents stopped a 26-year-old female at the Highway 86 checkpoint on Tuesday between Westmoreland and Salton City. 

A canine team alerted officers and the vehicle was searched.  Five packages of cocaine were found in the vehicle’s transmission. 

The woman, a citizen of Mexico and Lawfully Admitted Permanent Resident card holder, was arrested.
