Former Police Chief Involved In Homicide

More information has come to light about a shooting involving a former Cocopah Police Chief. Our television partner KYMATV says they have found out that James Spuregon was the one who allegedly killed Joshua Collins at an apartment in an apartment complex at 1600 West 12th Street last weekend. Reports up to this point indicated that Collins had died of a self inflicted gunshot wound. Police say Spurgeon, Angela Cochnauer and two kids were asleep in the apartment when Collins forced entry into the apartment and assaulted Spurgeon and Cochnauer with a baseball bat and stabbed Spurgeon multiple times. During the assault officers say Spurgeon was able to retrieve his handgun and shot Collins. Collins was found dead at the scene.
