Lawyers Of Death Row Inmates Ask For More Information On Execution Drugs

Lawyers for two Arizona death row inmates set for execution in the coming weeks want a federal judge to force the state to turn over more information on the drug it plans to use. The federal public defenders for Edward Schad and Robert Glen Jones Junior say in court filings that Arizona has a history of having problems legally obtaining execution drugs and assuring they are not expired. They want more information on the pentobarbital the state plans to use at Schad's scheduled execution on Wednesday and Jones' scheduled execution on October 23rd. They say the state refuses to reveal the drug's source and expiration date.
