Many Yuma Families Suffer Food Hardship

Groceries-foodAccording to a recent report, parts of Yuma County are ranked 76th in food hardship - meaning several families have issues being able to purchase food.

The report in the Yuma Sun says nearly 22-percent of families at some point do not know where their next meal is coming from.

Yuma Community Food Bank President Mike Ivers traveled to Washington, D.C. last week to meet with an Arizona delegation of elected officials.

This year’s percentage is lower than the nearly 23-percent reported last year.
