Several people were injured following a multiple car accident on Highway 95 on Thursday night. The accident occurred just south of County 12th-and-a-Half Street. The initial investigation at the scene revealed that the Honda CR-V was traveling southbound on Highway 95 when the driver became aware of an approaching ambulance with lights and sirens activated, and slowed down to transition right into the slow lane. The driver of a Chevrolet pickup truck traveling southbound behind the Honda CR-V was not able to slow down in time and rear-ended the Honda CR-V. As the three stood next to the truck, a Honda Odyssey van traveling southbound rear-ended the Chevrolet pickup truck, and hit all three pedestrians who were attempting to render aid to the pickup truck driver. Five persons sustained injuries and were transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center. Three persons were then airlifted to Phoenix to be treated for more serious injuries.
