National Wildlife Federation To Campaign Against Land And Gas Development In Remote Areas

In some of the most remote areas in the country, a battle is brewing to safeguard the land from oil and gas development and timber extraction. Ed Perry with the National Wildlife Federation will be part of that protection effort as he begins work with NWF’s Public Lands Campaign. Perry says roadless areas represent some of the greatest hunting, fishing and camping areas nationwide, enjoyed by thousands of visitors each year from other parts of the country.

He says those lands need to be preserved, both for the tourist dollars they bring in and the jobs they create, and for their environmental value, which he sees as priceless.
