New Sports Complex Could Be Boost To Local Economy

sportseconomyA new sports complex is slated to be constructed in Yuma in the near future.  The funds for the construction comes from an extension of a hospitality tax.  The complex – near the Yuma Palms Regional Center – sets the city in a position to host major athletic tournaments.  Yuma City Administrator Greg Wilkinson says the new complex will not only provide a great area for people to exercise, but sports tournaments hosted there will provide a significant boost to the local economy.

Along with the complex, plans to further develop the city's recreation areas are in motion, with plans or improvements to several parks expected to take place in the coming years.
