Yuma Community Theater Schedule
Yuma Community Theater (YCT) is proud to announce our 2008-2009 season of Broadway shows. This is the third consecutive year that YCT will present a full season of three shows to entertain our community. The 2008-2009 season is called "Live! Love! Laugh!" to summarize the nature of the three shows we are presenting this year.
The season will begin with "It's A Wonderful Life" the live stage version of the 1946 holiday movie favorite by Frank Capra starring Jimmy Stewart, Donna Reed and Lionel Barrymore. The theatrical show is a faithful version of the movie detailing the story of an angel who helps a frustrated businessman by showing him the value of his life. The second show of the season is the Tony Award winning, Rodgers & Hammerstein musical "South Pacific" which is currently in revival at New York's Lincoln Center. This beloved musical was awarded seven Tony Awards this year in addition to the nine Tony's it won in 1950! The twin love stories at the center of this World War II musical, with its enchanting and beautiful music and heroic story line is certain to guarantee the audience a wonderful feeling. The third show of the season will be the French comedy "Don't Dress for Dinner" which is a companion piece to the Tony Award winning show, "Boeing, Boeing" and promises to have the audience rolling in the aisles.
Each of the three (3) shows will be presented at the Historic Yuma Theatre for 3 weekends starting with
"It's A Wonderful Life" from Nov. 21-Dec. 7, 2008; followed by "South Pacific" from Jan. 9-25, 2009, and "Don't Dress for Dinner" running from Mar. 20-April 5, 2009.
