Rural Metro Fire Department Responds To Two Separate Fires In The Same Mobile Home Park

The Rural Metro Fire Department responded to two separate fires in the same mobile home park in a five hour period. The first started on Wednesday night at the Fortuna De Oro Park. The caller said the trailer was on fire and she was not able to get out of her residence. Rural/Metro Fire Deptartment responded to the fire and sent a separate crew to assist the caller with evacuating her residence. A park model was on fire. Fire command promptly had EMS take care of the resident that was next door and the fire under control in a matter of minutes. The neighbor was fine and did not have to evacuate. The homeowners were not at home at the time of the fire and the incident is under investigation.
The second fire broke out early Thursday morning. The caller was worried about her trailer catching fire. She was able to evacuate her trailer. She also advised dispatch that there was a man burned. The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office took him out of the trailer when fire fighters arrived on scene. He was taken to the hospital. The fire was knocked down quickly and the neighbors were not affected by the fire so much as the smoke. This fire too is under investigation.
