San Luis City Council Continues Support For Youthbuild Non-Profit Organization

The San Luis City Council recently voted to continue providing financial support for Youthbuild, a nation-wide nonprofit organization that helps 17 to 24-year olds earn their GED high school equivalency certificates while putting their new learned skills to work in repairing or renovating homes for low income residents, improving parks as well as providing their labor in putting on community events. PPEP, a Tucson-based non-profit educational organization, administers the eight-month long GED and job training program in San Luis for Youthbuild. Jesse Lopez, the coordinator of the Youthbuild program in San Luis, is currently recruiting for students as a new training program is scheduled to start at the beginning of 2014.

For more information on the Youthbuild program and details on the next class schedule, contact Jesse Lopez of PPEP at 928-920-3631.
