Somerton Man Wanted For Drug Trafficking And 14 Year Old Boy Apprehend At San Luis Border

A Somerton man wanted on drug trafficking charges and a 14-year-old boy were apprehended over the weekend by United States Customs and Border Protection officers assigned to the Port of San Luis. Officers first referred 45-year-old Jesus Romero-Serrano for additional questioning when he attempted to enter the United States. During a routine records check, officers learned Romero was wanted on a probation violation for trafficking narcotics. After verifying the active warrant, Romero was arrested and turned over to the San Luis Police Department.
 
Friday, a local teen was arrested for attempting to bring more than one-half pound of  methamphetamine through the San Luis Port. The 14-year-old male was found to be carrying a package of meth with a street value of nine-thousand-dollars taped to his thigh. The methamphetamine was seized and the teen was referred to United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
