The State Board of Education has reelected Yuma County Schools Superintendent, Thomas Tyree to serve as its president in 2014. Tyree has served in public education for 43 years. He has served as the President of the state’s County School Superintendent’s Association, as well as a trustee of Yuma Regional Medical Center, Chair of the Western Arizona Council of Governments and Board member of the Arizona Risk Retention Trust Board and the Arizona Business Education Coalition. In addition, he was President of the Arizona School Personnel Administrators Association and served on the National Alumni Board for the University of Arizona and the Arizona Western College Foundation Board. Tyree was appointed to the Arizona State Board of Education by Governor Janice Brewer in April 2010.
