Suspect In Yuma Shooting
Pleads Not Guilty To Attempted Murder

A suspect in a shooting that left one man wounded has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder. 22-year-old Marco Navarrete was arraigned Friday on two felony offenses. Navarrete has also been charged with one count of aggravated assault. Navarrete entered not guilty pleas to both charges. A justice of the peace denied a request from Navarrete's defense lawyer to reduce his bond.

The Yuma Police Department responded Wednesday morning to a report of a disturbance involving a gun. Officers found a 46-year-old man with gunshot wounds to one of his feet. He was treated and released at Yuma Regional Medical Center. Police have not identified him. Investigators say an argument may have led to the shooting.
