Three People Killed In Fatal Collision At Yuma Intersection

caraccidentThree persons were killed in a two-vehicle accident near Yuma on Monday.  The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office says 29-year-old Melanie Darlene Jose was pronounced dead at the scene after she became trapped in her vehicle. 

Also, her passenger 55-year-old Harriet Phillips was declared dead on the scene after she was trapped in the rear seat of the car. 

A front seat passenger, identified as 32-year-old Leatrice Tourtillott was also killed. 

The accident occurred at the intersection of Avenue “D” and County Ninth Street.  The Toyota Camry driven by Jose, was struck by a Dodge pickup truck, driven by 30-year-old Alberto Espinoza of Yuma.  He was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center by ambulance as a precaution.
