The United States Marshals Service apprehended two fugitives last week in coordination with Mexican law enforcement officials. The two fugitives, brothers Martin and Christopher Mayorquin were arrested after more than five years on the run.
The fugitives were targeted by the U.S. Marshals Service after arrest warrants for each were issued for various crimes involving marijuana smuggling, cocaine possession and sex offenses.
49-year-old Martin Mayorquin is a level two sex offender whose warrants stem from failing to register as a sex offender and probation violation.
34-year-old Christopher Mayorquin was indicted by the Yuma County Superior Court for marijuana smuggling, transporting marijuana for sale and assisting a criminal syndicate. He also has an outstanding parole violation warrant from the Arizona Department of Corrections from an original offense of cocaine possession.
