United States Border Patrol agents from the Wellton Station seized ten bundles of marijuana and arrested nine men near Gila Bend Monday. Agents patrolling near Gila Bend observed a large group of people walking towards I-8 near Citrus Valley. An Office of Air and Marine helicopter responded to the area and had visual contact of nine men hiding behind brush along with ten bundles of marijuana. Agents responded to the area and apprehended nine Mexican nationals who had entered the country illegally and seized ten bundles of marijuana. The marijuana had a combined weight of 488 pounds, worth an estimated $244,000. The nine men and ten bundles of marijuana were turned over to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
