Woman Rescued After Being Stranded In Papago Park

A woman has been rescued after being stranded since Wednesday morning on a mountain trail in Phoenix's Papago Park. Phoenix Fire Department officials say the woman in her 30s says she was hiking and got stuck on a 100-foot cliff.
Other hikers noticed her and called 9-1-1. Fire units from Phoenix, Scottsdale and Tempe deployed technical rescue teams to reach her. They rappelled using ropes and gear and performed a rescue pick-off. Crews reached the hiker Thursday and found she was not injured. After being evaluated, the woman was given a ride home. The name and age of the woman was not immediately released by authorities.
