Yuma High School Student Arrested After Assaulting Police Officer

Omar-McQueenA Yuma High School student was arrested Friday morning after assaulting the School Resource Officer.  Police say 19-year-old Omar McQueen was under investigation and was arrested. 

McQueen then assaulted the officer and after backup officers arrived, McQueen was restrained through the use of an electronic control device. 

McQueen was taken into custody and later booked into the Yuma County Detention Center.  

He is being charged with Aggravated Assault on a police officer and in the original case that was being investigated, McQueen is being charged with Possession of Marijuana for sale in a drug free school zone.
