Yuma Police Arrest Male Suspect For Attempted Murder 


The Yuma Police Department says one person is in custody on Attempted Murder charges after a shooting incident on Wednesday morning. Police say they responded to a report of a disturbance involving a gun in the 1300 block of West Eighth Place. Officers discovered a 46-year-old male with gun shot wounds to the foot. He was taken to Yuma Regional Medical Center for treatment. The suspect was identified as 22 year-old Marco Navarrete and was arrested. He was booked into the Yuma County Adult Detention Center for an Attempted Murder charge. The victim has been treated and released from the hospital. Cruz Vidal from the Yuma Police Department says they are looking into the cause of the incident.
 
Police are also seeking 20-year-old Angel Salazar for questioning in reference to the shooting. Salazar is described as a Hispanic male, standing 6’1, weighing 260 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.
