A local politician is being investigated in connection with a school incident last week. The Arizona Capitol Times is reporting they have confirmed with the Yuma Police Department that Arizona Republican Senator Don Shooter of Yuma went to
EOC Charter School on Friday, March 22nd and confronted a teacher.
Sargent Leann Worthen confirmed that the man in question was Shooter. No arrests have been made and no charges have been filed against the senator, and the investigation into the incident remains open.
Shooter has declined to comment on the matter.
Sam Pepper and Ken Rosevear, members of the Yuma Workforce Investment Board that oversees the Private Industry Council’s operations, said they were notified of Shooter’s presence at the school. Pepper said he advised school officials to contact the police.
