Yuma Show Off MRAP Vehicle

The city of Yuma is now only one of two Arizona cities with their own Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle. The new equipment was shown off to the media on Thursday.
The Yuma Sun reports the vehicle is being provided to the Yuma Police Department by means of the Department of Defense’s 1033 program. It allows law enforcement agencies to borrow surplus military vehicles. The 2004 model vehicle was designed for use in the Iraq conflict to protect civilians.
