Yuma Unemployment Rate Up To 30 Percent

Unemployment-Up-riseThe jobless rate in Yuma County has increased to 30-percent.  3 out of 10 workers are collecting unemployment, the highest number in some time – due partly to the decrease of agriculture related jobs that typically end in the spring.

The Yuma Sun says only just over 23,000 were out of work in March, compared to April’s figure of nearly 28,000.

Unemployment state wide for April is 7.9 percent.
